Would we get the same amount of oil from offshore drilling as if we just make sure our tires our inflated?

Do you think OBAMA was right all along? If we inflate our tires, we should be good until renewable energies show up? Shouldn't we drill too?

Well offshore is 17.9 billion barrels. (IF) we can get everyone to always have the proper air in their tires, (impossible) we save 61 million barrels. That falls way short of the 17.9 billion offshore, so the answer is no.Would we get the same amount of oil from offshore drilling as if we just make sure our tires our inflated?
Coming from someone with a vast knowledge in the automobile field [i've been fixing cars since I was 12] Inflating your tires has nothing to do with how much gas you use. In fact if you over inflate your tires during the hot seasons the air will expand to an extent that will pop your tire and you could die.

Alternatives fuels are years down the road, even if you had a viable one today, so drill now and every where, produce natural gas, wind power, solar power, currents form the ocean...do it all!
inflating your tires might make your trip smoother... but it won't put gasoline in your tank. drilling for oil is the way to go, just mentioning it has caused a 20 day drop in oil prices.
To the poster above...

So because someone is claiming they work in the auto industry, were suppose to believe you over all other automobile organizations that say the opposite? Interesting.
No. It will save gasoline but nowhere near the level that we could produce if we were allowed to drill off-shore..
You'll get better fuel economy, thus burning less gas. You WILL save money. Give it a try before you bash it.
I say we drill.
