I won't pull your leg - working the rigs can be dangerous. Roughnecks are the most in harm's way. Cooks probably the least. There are a number of jobs to do; it depends on what you get hired to do. But there is a LOT that *you* can do to guard your own safety. Being vigilant is top of the list.
