If the Big Oil Cartel drills offshore what makes anyone think gas prices will go down?

They are still in the business to make PROFIT. Does anyone really believe their executives put ';Country First';? That oil could easily end up in China or India.

Obama/Biden 08'If the Big Oil Cartel drills offshore what makes anyone think gas prices will go down?
The oil companies also have millions of acres which they claim have oil which they have never tried to drill. It is amazing how we heard oil companies where doing everything they could to drive down prices but supply was limited. Now after they said they would look into corruption prices are falling. Hopefully with Obama in the White House we can have a good economy again.

Go ObamaIf the Big Oil Cartel drills offshore what makes anyone think gas prices will go down?
Why should we give foreigners our hard earned money for gas/oil to be shipped here. Our own economy would get a tremendous boost if we were using our own resources. Why let foreigners drill and slant drill into our lands for our own resources??

It will be YEARS and I mean years before alternatives are up, running smoothly, and sustainable for our needs.
When Bush lifted the ban they immediately began to come down, if Obama gets elected and says no to drilling watch them go sky high, everyone thinks Obama has a majic wand for new technology, better get ready to push it to work.
More oil ='s more supply, when supply is high, prices go down. Take a basic economics course. Oil companies don't set oil prices, the free market does.
Listen to Redsoxnation he is correct.

When they rent/lease land from the FEDs, they box out competition and leave hundreds of thousands of acres with known oil untapped.

Yes. Absolutely.
OMG!

I can't believe you just said that they are in business to make a profit. Do you realize how communist that makes you sound?
If you have high demand for something and you increase supply you will lower the cost of that item.
simple:supply and demand.
